Puppet Portfolio
There's a lot on this page. Please be patient.
It may take a bit to load. It's worth it. Thanks!
Hand Puppets
Old Man
This hand puppet's head
and hands are carved in
foam, coated with putty,
textured, and painted to
suit his schnazzy
handmade jacket and
dress shirt.
Ted E. Bear
This television puppet was
patterned, then sculpted in
polyfoam. If you can't tell,
he's a bear.
The Professor
This sock puppet was
fabricated as a supplement
to a skit about the
Animaniacs. He has since
appeared in the Ballard
Institute and Museum of
Puppetry and on the Univ. of
CT's UCTV's original show,
"Get Loco!" starring Chris
McLaughlin.
Masks
These masks are form fit over my face cast. The red mask is
an exaggerated portrait mask and the other is my portrait mask.
A musical comedy
lion mask which
covers most of the
face, leaving the
bottom lip and
chin exposed for
the musical
comedy.
These masks were
made for my senior
production of my
original play, Hybrid.
This one mask is a
puppy. It is only one
of six characters in
the same style.
Rod Puppets
The Doubbles
This double sided rod
puppet's head and
hands are carved in
foam, puttied, and
painted to match its
vibrant personality.
Puppet Sculpture
Francine
This puppet head is
an ongoing
marionette project of
mine. It was carved
by hand in bass
wood. It is
completely hollow
inside.
This is a paper maché
lion head. It was a
puppet prototype for
an earlier version of
Hybrid.
This is another Hybrid
prototype lion. It is
not the one pictured
just above it. This is
an oil based sculpt.
Paper Demon
This simple marionette's head and hands are made using a
method called paper sculpture. The contour and texture are
painted on simple surfaces.
